Playing Catch Up I

College sure knows how to bog a student down!  I have many many updates to share.  But I want to recollect everything in chronological order.  So allow me to tell you through photos:

Got to attend my first wedding!  The bride was proposed to last year during a football game in October.  So I went with a couple of other cheerleaders to this beautiful wedding:

A visit to Greenbluff is a Fall tradition at Whitworth!  These ladies are part of my hall in my dorm.

At Whitworth, there is a little tradition where you have a small bucketlist to complete in order to graduate.  I got to complete the hardest item one rainy day.

I caught a virgin pinecone [a pinecone that has not touched the ground)!  I heard it crack in a pine tree, and I stuck my left hand out with my mug of coffee in it and I caught it perfectly!
The other two items in the bucketlist (known as "The Little Three") are to accidentally drop a plate in the dining hall, and to accidentally get hit in the head with a frisbee.

I got a Siamese fighting fish (better known as a betta) and named him Hank!

Got these boots for $11 and the stockings for $6 at Burlington Coat Factory!  The stockings came with a solid black pair as well.  Love bargains!

Some ending things that are the most exciting things that I do not have a photo for:
1. I got accepted to go on a service-learning trip to Eden, Jamaica over my spring break at the end of March!

2. I also accepted an internship offer with Fruci and Associates, PS in downtown Spokane for a tax season internship!  It's a paid internship and I get to work with CPAs.

I will try to keep this blog more updated with better planning.  I cannot wait for this semester to end so I can get on with my internship and my service-learning trip in the Spring.

What I've Got My Eyes On #1

So, I am definitely a shopaholic. 

I especially love online shopping and enduring the anticipation for packages in the mail!  So here are three things I am currently waiting on as of yesterday:

I have an ONA Brooklyn leather camera bag in Chestnut, but it isn't big enough to fit my laptop.  It is meant for a camera and lenses, after all.  While I do have a DSLR with a detachable lens that could fill this bag up, I have a more compact camera bag to store and carry it in.  I did take a look at ONA's messenger bags that are intended to fit laptops and such, but Grafea's leather briefcases (as they call them) were cheaper, does not charge tax after the initial price tag (tax is included in the price tag in the UK, where Grafea is located), and shipping is free for orders over $150.  Though, ONA offers free shipping for orders over $100.  Regardless, the Grafea leather briefcase works out better for me.  The particular one I ordered was on sale with $40 off the original price, fit my needs for my laptop, and qualified for free shipping.  It's also black, which goes with everything.  I went through a goth phase in high school, so I'm just naturally drawn to that color.
The navy Tobi dress I purchased specifically for two upcoming events: this leadership cruise that accepted my application for an invitation hosted by a Seattle public accounting firm at the end of the month, and for a friend's wedding next month.  Obviously, the wearing of the dress is not strictly to those two events.  I can wear it to more semi-formal events and dates and what-have-you.  And then the Tobi pumps I figured would go good with the dress since the cruise is being hosted by a big accounting firm.  It is also suitable for wearing to my job as a front desk receptionist, for interviews and job recruitment events, maybe more date nights, etc.  With it being black and closed-toe, I feel it's fashionably versatile.
Also, Tobi.com is doing this promotion right now where you can get 50% off your first order!  They also provide free shipping and returns, and they do not charge taxes either!  My order is expected to arrive within 3-5 business days on free shipping - that sounds pretty good to me!  And 50% off is such a good deal.  If I had more time, I would have waited until I didn't have other financial obligations and go on a huge spree on a payday.

Weekend in Bremerton, Washington (Part II)

Sunday was a lovely morning, too short of course.  I had another morning jog before breakfast for a half hour.  We had breakfast with my cousin Kandace (I'm really young in my family - she is in her 30s).  I got to read outdoors for a good while, and then we visited an open house at a place my aunt and uncle were interested in.  It's a good location and a nice-looking neighborhood.  The basement creeps me out a little bit, but it's a nice size and it had a lot of natural light flowing into the rooms.  Before it was time to get going on home, we visited the Bremerton City Nursery to look at their succulents.  My aunt got me seven new ones, two sacks of cacti soil, and an air plant.  She also gave me an old birdbath of hers that leaks, so that I can have a place for the new plants.  I'm thinking she just wanted to get rid of the birdbath, but it works for me!  My dad is going to make sure the stem of the birdbath is cemented to the base so it doesn't tilt from the plants' weight.  Then he is going to drill some more holes in the birdbath so there's better drainage for the plants.
Before we got home however, my aunt had us stop by this Wild Birds Unlimited sanctuary that is very near my house.  It's been near my house for years and years, but I never thought to stop by.  I sure wish I had done so earlier because the place is beautiful!  My aunt also picked up some bird feed while we were there, so we were not complete loiterers.
